A Royal Auction

Princess Diana was the most fashionable dressers of her time. One of her most popular wardrobe choices was the black Emanuel gown worn for her first public appearance. When the young Princess, then 19, officially stepped out for the first time since her engagement to Prince Charles in a low-cut black taffeta gown, a fashion fascination was born; and seemingly, it still lives on today. Since that night the dress was just thought to be lost, somewhere in Prince Charles' bedroom probably. Not so, the designers Elizabeth and David Emanuel announced not long ago  that their creation had been with them all along. The Princess had simply dropped it off with them to be altered.

On June 8th at the Kerry Taylor Auction in London this iconic dress, along with Diana's original wedding dress will be up for bid. And we hope to God someone worthy gets them. There will be nothing worse than seeing these timeless pieces of history end up on someone with pink hair and converse running around the mall.

Imagine having that dress - actually either of them!

I saw the Princess Diana collection of her dresses, persona mementos when it came to Philadelphia last year - simply stunning.

I spent about five minutes slowly walking around the wedding dress/bridesmaid dresses - there was even a parasol made in case it rained, and her shoes were hand painted on the soles.

she did have great style, and her death was a tragedy. i agree that i hope the dress doesn't end with someone who doesn't appreciate it. (although i do have converse and recently had pink hair, lol).
thanks for your recent comment, you girls are so sweet! would love to see pics of you guys and your style!

OMG I wonder who will buy the wedding dress! I mean, this is probably the most famous and the most recognizable wedding dress of our times.
