Lucite = Plastic

The February issue of Elle features a whole page on the Lucite trend, including a pair of velcro closure Platform heels. What?! We just figured a disgruntled employee stuck that in the magazine to get back at them, like the Preist in the Little Mermaid or the hanging munchkin in the Wizard of Oz (it's tragic that we know this). But, when we found even more Lucite heels in the March issue, we came to the startiling realization: Elle really thinks plastic accessories are cool even after your sixth birthday. We hope that Joe Zee and his peeps up at Elle get their shit together very soon or we're gonna be pretty disappointed.  Trendwatch is second only to "First Look" in Elle, which also got its ugly on in both issues.

I'm thinking that for whoever is in charge of this section, this is their not-very-subtle tribute to their stripper past... or they own a lot of stock in plastics

someone in that department is spending too much time in the strip clubs. It's like '04 high school dances all over again. Maybe April will have a feature about the mini strobe lights that you can stick in the heel for extra pizazz!
